Stuff N Things

38 Weeks and 1 Day
Before we get too much further I want to say this: My face is swelling, much like the rest of me. My eyes look horrible because I am up for about 2-3 hours every night. Discomfort, followed by hunger, followed by Lil Mister having a party. It's the thing to do between 1 and 4 AM.
Also, in the rest of these pictures you will see our house in disarray. I'm going to pick it up soon. I swear. So if you could please not pay too much attention to these few things, I'd be ever so grateful. Thanks.

Poor Baby Brudder is a seat for Big Sister.
Not that he seems to mind, in fact, he usually takes advantage of these situations to try and give her a kick in the hiney. He may be glad to be a few up on her when he arrives. I guess that it may mean he does mind if he kicks at her, but sibling rivalry can never start too soon.
Right?

Most evenings after dinner we take a little special family time and goof off.
Translation: we try to tire out the toddler before the bedtime routine begins.
I used to be more involved in this, these days it seems I just watch and laugh and occasionally give her a hug and a shake and resume my seated position. She does not care for the fact that I can no longer do Ring Around the Rosie with her and Daddy.
He has made up a few new games to get her mind off of that.
Behold:

Flying. "Like Peter Pan!!!!!" Violet exclaims.
She does this until Tim can no longer lift his arms.
I honestly don't know who sleeps better after these romp sessions. I know it ain't me. *sigh*
As a bit of an update, I managed to lose 2 more pounds, so we had another ultrasound to check on the babe. He is just fine, 7 pounds-ish and measuring around the 21st. I also asked the U/S Tech to measure his foot. It is about 3 1/2 inches long. Yikes!

About 2 1/2 Months Ago...

This lady was still a bachelorette, you know, the engaged kind. And she was engaged to my older Brother John. She was given a wonderful Bridal Shower by my husband's Aunt Melanie. Which makes her my Aunt Melanie too. But to this gal, she is former co-worker and beloved friend. Also, this lady shall be called Sister Amber.
Why you ask? I'll tell you.
Because this lovely lady is also an Amber. She is Cousin Amber, daughter of Aunt Melanie, cousin too my husband and therefore, cousin too me. But to Sister Amber, she is beloved friend, and Maid of Honor. They met through Aunt Melanie. You keeping up?
Wonder how I managed to so deeply entangle these families?
Because about 2 years ago when my daughter was a tiny suckling infant in a swing, I got this great idea to put my brother on this blog, kinda like it was Craigslist. Not that I'm knocking Craigslist. Cuz I'm not.
If you need to refresh read this and this.

After I put those posts up, Cousin Amber called me and said she thought she knew someone that he would like to meet. From that point on we conspired, e-mailed, phone called and match made till they finally got to talk to each other, and go on their first date.
The rest is history, and this lovely shower, and a fabulous wedding, and 2 newlyweds getting ready to share their first Christmas as husband and wife.

This is the family Sister Amber married into.
Tammy, Grandma Shirley, Myself, Sister Amber, Mom and Kimmy.
There will be a quiz later.

And this is Aunt Melanie, Sister Amber and Cousin Amber.

But the most important thing to remember is that all of these people love and cherish Sister Amber. We are all so very happy to have her in our lives and enjoyed her special time. And I guess I better mention that we all love and cherish John too, don't want him to feel left out.
But it is all about the bride right?

Cheers Sister Amber!!

Our precious VeeVee turned 2.
It's hard to believe that she was ever a tiny little baby, for even a minute. She loved having a birthday party with a Tinkerbell theme(as if there were another kind!)
She was lots of smiles and laughs even though there was a thunderstorm going on.

She let us sing Happy Birthday to her, which is big. She hates when people sing that song. Sends her into a level 10 meltdown most times. Just recently one of her cousins had her first birthday party and she just stated quite plainly, "I don't like that song." I guess she's getting over it. Kinda.

She got lots of gifts and cards and to this very day, she has her cards in her desk and looks through them regularly. She has been through them so many times, she remembers who each card came from. It's pretty cute.
Then we tried out her new hair bows. She wasn't too sure then, but these days she prefers to wear hair adornments. Much to my utter delight!
