Baby Love

This is Brandon. He belongs to our good friends, Brett and Julie. He is their second son. Mostly he a so stinking cute....and mellow. I'm so jealous. I want a son, a mellow son, with a fuzzy head. I wonder how often they leave him unattended, with all his clothes and things laying in large box next to him.
This is Violet checking him out. He is 5 weeks older than her, and as of this particular day Violet had not sat alone for longer than a few seconds. Then she saw Brandon sit, and that was it. She sits all alone now, though she still has big spills. Not that I would know anything about how that happens, I mean, sometimes you forget to move the plastic bowl she was banging on last night when you go get your cup of coffee. Sometimes there is a topple, loud thump, and a wail. Hey, I hadn't yet had my coffee......like that'll hold water in court. Good thing she can't yet call the authorities on me, or worse yet, Grammy.

This is Violet thinking about taking that toy right out of Brandon's possession. She is such a first born. Competitive, bossy and sassy. I wish I were a first born, then maybe I'd have some sort of excuse for why I'm that way too. I'm an Aries, does that count?

Oh my. If I had 3 hours and a no witnesses, I'd kiss these two until their cheeks were pink and they each had a bald patch on top of their heads. Then I'd go buy a tube of Chapstick for my lips.
Yes, that is how to spend a Saturday afternoon.
If this doesn't send your ovaries into hyper drive then you must not have ovaries, or you have a house full of screaming kids. Then you are immune to babies.

Is this the baby equivalent to grown up pie eating contests?
How much toy can we cram in our mouths.

Love at first coo.

Technical Difficulties

To make a long story short, my computer is giving me sass.
I have tons of great pictures and fun posts in mind, but I am having trouble downloading them.
Until I get it worked out(translation: until Tim can figure out what I did)I'm on hold.
This is the problem with technology, between my camera and laptop, they have a collective IQ higher than 3 people.
Here's a picture my Mom took recently while she was watching Violet. There is a funny video to go with it that I will post soon. Between working, changing diapers, laundry, lactating, laundry, figuring out my photo issues and making dinner, that is.
Hope you are all having a great day!

Resolve

Do you have a New Years resolution? Do you find them foolish? Inspiring? Another disappointment?
I looked up the top 5 resolutions for 2009 and I found them, well, common.

I put them in the poll anyway for a baseline, but I found myself thinking, "These aren't resolutions. These are the same things that all Americans carry on about all year." And the one thing that really struck me was that for the most part, they are not very positive.

Not that I am picking on people who want to improve their lives through weight loss, exercise and healthy eating, it just seems like to a certain extent, that should just be there.
I know that finances, weight and health are a constant, year round topic in my mind.

My resolution this year is to choose happiness.

I think that if every morning I wake up and decide to be happy, everything else will fall into place. I have known a great many people in my short 30 years and I have learned there are certain truths about humans. One of them being that we all wake up and choose the day we will have before we even rise out of bed.

If you expect problems and strife, you will be guaranteed to find them in your day. I firmly believe that if we seek the joy and beauty in our day, we will surely find it.
This year I resolve to choose happiness above all other thoughts when I wake in the morning.
Even when it starts with the cry of a hungry suckling. It only means she is healthy and thriving.
And I always resolve to stop swearing, but something tells me in about another year I will finally see that resolution become an absolute need.

Auntie Kimmy Loves You!!

My sister was away for the Holidays, so she came over early to give Violet her presents.
This picture is the first example of every other picture of present opening for the Noodle.
Rip the bow off and stuff it in your mouth, that was the technique this year. It's true what everyone told me about the first few Christmases, all those great presents, and their favorite thing is the wrapping paper, bows and boxes. Now that the wrapping is gone and she has all her new toys out, do you want to know what her favorite thing is to do with them? She rolls them around until she finds the little white tags on them and plays with those.
Yep, it's all about the tag. All the things I got for her before she was born I took the time to cut the tags off, now I will never take the time to do that again since apparently that is the best part of a new toy.
We hope you all had a wonderful and Blessed Holiday Season!
More nonsense for the New Year upcoming!
And remember, Auntie Kimmy Loves You!!
