A Preview

My sister's wedding is in 3 weeks!
*collective shriek stemming from feelings of not being prepared*
Violet is her flower girl and this is her ensemble. She loves it.
She calls is "pretty wedding dress and hat and bow"
Also, it has yet to be altered and thus, is falling off.

How sweet is she?!?!?!
I gave her my old camera to distract her from trying to grab mine while I took her picture.
I told her that was Violet's camera and that she couldn't touch Momma's camera.
She took it quite well. Good trade I guess.

Then I tricked her into putting Violet's camera in her basket to pose this shot.
I never knew you'd have to be so sneaky when you became a parent, but you do.
I kinda like it....is that a bad sign?

A Few Things

As I sit to write this I am realizing I can feel the little flutters of a tiny turkey in my belly.
I will be 14 weeks tomorrow which means, second trimester!! I am wearing maternity clothes and the extreme nausea has abated to the point that I am only taking my medicine once a day or not at all! Praise God for that!
Thanks all for the prayers, this has been much better than it was with Violet, and I couldn't be more pleased and relieved!!
Also, I think our bumper crop of dandelions is quite precious. My husband keeps muttering something about gasoline and a match when he sees them. Men and women......

Summer

Where is summer?
It snowed today. My furnace has been running. Consequently, I am packing my house up.
Moving to California, or Florida, or Hawaii. I'll let you know when I decide.
Good bye forever.

Mother's Day

The good news is, I have my camera up and running. The bad news(kinda), is that I took pictures of the plum tree in our back yard, instead of mybeautiful family.
My moods are unpredictable I tell ya.
We had a great day. Brunch at my Sister's, I watched Tim do yard work while I got a sunburn in my new chaise lounge and then I felt well enough to go to Fargo's Pizza for a Mother's Day dinner with Tim and Violet. I ate 2 pieces of pizza AND a salad. That, by the way, is a big deal here lately. Tim and Violet had fun too.
That's all for now.
Thanks for the prayers, I am sure they are working!!!

Gems

I found this tonight.
I think I have only looked at it once, and had forgotten about it.
Most of my pictures are all responsibly labeled and organized in my computer so I can easily look at pictures of Violet when she was x number of weeks or months old, or of a specific event or holiday. This little gem of a shot was tucked away in a random folder with 6 pictures in it, that was labeled "point n shoot"
I love finding a little hidden gem in my files, don't you?
Oh, and my Mom made those shoes she's wearing. Are they not the cutest?!?
Too bad they only fit for what seemed like 10 minutes.

Information

Her First Mohawk
(It was a big deal!)
And on another note........
I wanted to share this with all of you.
My sister checked it out today, and seemed to find it helpful in dealing with being around me. Not that she minds, but I think she wonders why I make funny faces, and stop mid sentence to make them.
During my latest trip to the ER, the nurse gave me some paperwork to take home.
"This is what we are treating you for. Do you know what this is?"
I numbly nodded at her, mostly grateful for the 2 bags of IV fluid she pumped into my arm.
"I had it too.", she shared with me.
I had seen the words before, while scouring the Internet for some miracle, some amazing combination of herbs, stretching and prayer that would bring some relief to the incessant feeling of nausea that arrived with our latest baby. I dismissed this condition as something far beyond what I was experiencing. But I decided to revisit the idea that perhaps I had something slightly more serious than morning sickness. After all, nothing else was helping, and occasionally even the combination of the 3 prescriptions I am on did nothing. I then decided to admit that I do have this.
It is called hyperemesis gravidarum or HG. And if you'd like to read a little bit about it, click here
I am glad that after reading many of the other tales on this site, that I seem to have a moderate case of HG. And I would definitely say that 60% of the time I feel well enough to get up and do light work and play with Violet, which is wonderful. In a way I am relieved to finally see that it is not "all in my head" and that there are other women who have lived through this. It also turns out that my cousin had this as well. Now we share war stories.
I also can't thank all of you enough for the prayers and e-mails and phone calls. It means so very much to have all of your support, and I just know that this will all end soon enough, and we'll be so glad when we finally meet this newest Blessing from God!
