Christmas Eve Eve

I am a big supporter of Christmas Eve Eve.
What??!?! You don't officially observe the day before Christmas Eve?
Well, shame on you. It is a day for last minute planning, last minute taste testing of all your baked goods, and trying not to call your family to tell them what you got them.
It is also a day for JOY!
We are Blessed to be here in this particular time together. We are all here right now for a reason, and whether it is clear to us or not, that reason is there. I like to think that on Christmas Eve Eve, we should all take a little time to ponder what that reason is. Maybe you need to be sure and let the people you will see during the next few days how much they matter to you. Maybe you need to take time for a stranger, give them a smile or kind word. Maybe you need to try to offer the world around you an extra measure of forgiveness, they too are just trying to get by.
Or maybe you are supposed to make sure you enjoy your weight in cookies and hot buttered rum. Only you can know once you look in your heart.
I have chosen to take this day to give.
Mostly to you, the fans of Violet, the fans of my antics, the victims of my silliness.
Here is a random selection of silly antics.
So very serious, she is forever thinking. I'm thinking could this outfit be any cuter?
My mom gave it to her and it is ADORABLE!
I was 99% sure I would have a son. When she was born it definitely took a few days for it to sink in. I didn't know what to do with a daughter. I was prepared to have a little lad who would dismantle our house every day. I was prepared for snakes and snails and all that.
Then the pink clothes started to arrive, followed by the purple, the floral and the lacy. I never looked back. I knew exactly what to do with a daughter.......dress her up and take her picture.

Music lessons have begun here at our house. Tim plays an instrument for her every day. She loves the guitar. She also loves the piano, banjo and tambourine. She doesn't really care much about the trumpet yet, except that it is shiny.

It would seem that if you are nosy and whip your head back and forth in the car seat with your hat on, this happens.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!!!

Just a Tidbit on Brothers

This is my husband and his brother. Though they are both very tall, this bike also in fact quite small. It's my sister-in-laws 150cc Honda. So, I'm pretty sure that's what it is, but if I'm wrong perhaps said husband will leave the correct answer in the comments. *hint**wink*
I like this picture. Wanna know why?
It disturbs me just a little. Like watching Eddie Murphy do stand up, or seeing a 5 year old with a pacifier in their mouth. Things like this amuse me to no end, especially Eddie Murphy doing stand up. That dude is raunchy.
But enough about that. My husband and brother-in-law are always doing these silly things, and since it's the season of giving, I want you all to have a little present from me.
Whether this amuses you, disturbs you or makes you forever delete my blog from your favorites list is up to you. Just know I love you all and this gift is from my heart.
Happy Holidays. I hope you all get an Eddie Murphy - Raw DVD from Santa.

Update, Stats and Toys

It's always nice to enjoy some floor time with stuffed toys. This is her unipegasusacorn. Yes, it is a real, if not rare, mythical creature. Violet was so taken with this recent gift from her Grampy that she rolled from back to belly then back again to check out every angle of this brightly colored friend. Then she told him a story. I am sure I was reflected in a flattering light.
Our Noodle-Doodle is 4 months old now and babbling, squealing and rolling like a champ. Yes, the days of setting her on furniture or even on the floor too close to walls and furniture are over.
Changing times now resemble some sort of cage fighting match where the rules are out the window. And I am here to tell you Violet does not fight fair. There are time it takes a forearm to get her to submit during a routine wardrobe change. Usually I tap out first.
She had her 4 month check up and she rates as follows:
Length-26 inches-95th percentile
Weight-13 pounds 12 ounces-50th percentile
Noggin-16 inches-30th percentile
So, same as last time, tall and skinny with a wee skull........skull, not brain, of this I am sure.

Grubbin' It Up

"What's that Daddy? You want me to show our friends and family how real babies eat a meal? Alright, then. Hey, by the way, do I have something on my face?"
"Oh, I see it! Gimme that grub, Momma. And not one of those sissy spoonfuls. I am a growing girl. Gimme, gimme gimme that grub!"

"MMMM.....that's the good stuff."
"Now, if you'd kindly just let me have the spoon I could eat this at my preferred pace."

"You know what? I think I'd rather just have the bowl. Yes, this is better. Now I can just pour it in my mouth, num, num."

"I HEART GRUB TIME!"

My Loves

She doesn't look like her Daddy or anything, does she?
I just love them both so much. They probably should wear a warning label:
Will cause heart to swell 3 times it's normal size.

Cookie Monster and Tossing Cookies

My Dad, A.K.A. Grampy/Shirt, braved Black Friday crowds at 6:00 A.M. to get one of these tickle Cookie Monsters for Violet. There was also an Ernie who was very colorful but he fell victim to the "snag and run" sprees common to Black Friday. Not that Violet minds, she loves her Cookie Monster, so much so that it evokes a very outward display from her belly.

Enjoy.

And don't forget to pause the music up top to hear this video.
