Every Trick in the Book

Have I ever told you Violet hates naps?

Sure, she sleeps 11 hours at night without waking(send your hate mail now)

But she is nearly impossible to get down during the day. She will cry and fight it for hours. When she was 2 weeks old she could keep herself awake for up to 7 hours at a time. Me, the frazzled Mom, would scratch my head in frustration. How does one force a child to fall asleep?

We have since learned to just let her cry a little(so it was alot when we first started) and she now takes pretty good naps. There were and still are times however, when we result to drastic measures.

This is her asleep in her car seat atop our running clothes dryer. The car always does the trick and this was a technique suggested to me by my friend, Windy in Michigan. Her son, Anderson, didn't like naps either. We just took her out to run a few errands and stuck her here when we got back. It extends the sleep time a bit, and as you all well know, sometimes it's that extra 15 minutes that can get you through the evening.
So thanks Windy. I hope you are having a good weekend!

Oh you sleep rebel you miss Violet! Don't worry, no hate mail will be coming your way. I know those naps are just as important as night time sleep! Sawyer is FINALLY taking good naps in his crib, at least an hour plus, but we were on a 30 minute catnap phase for awhile. He's also finally in his bed full time at night with no reflux issues, horray! Now we just need to cut out one of his two night time feedings so I can get out of my sleep deprived haze! We're babywisin it as always, but I guess we can't expect our kids to be by the book.
Love you!
