Why I Love My Husband: Volume 3

My husband is a planner.
And I love to brag on him, so there.

If you put him to a task, look out. And even more so if he puts himself to a task.

This very thing is going on here at our house right now. That picture is the schedule that he brought home of the things we need to accomplish each weekend leading up to baby's arrival.
I love his typed schedules. With them around I simply am not able to do my deeply ingrained ritual of procrastination.
Whenever something out of the ordinary is happening these typed schedules appear.
Much of the time they are accompanied by lists, especially when we are going camping or out of town.
I must give credit where credit is due, most of the tasks on this particular schedule are for Tim to do, but I try to help where I can, and I am always supportive and grateful.
Thus far we have been right on schedule and not only that, but he has managed to get in at least one extra task not on the list each weekend.
I tell you it pays to have a planner in the house, and even better when he's super good looking.

And for those of you wondering, yes, I call them shhheduols, just like the English.

Nesting

Gestation is the new theme here at our place.
We had a pair of robins decide to build a nest on our meter box, and Lady Robin, as we have come to call her, laid 4 eggs. And I cannot begin to express the vivid color of blue these eggs are, they are amazing!
Tim took a couple of quick shots the other night when he was grilling our dinner.
This was actually quite a feat since Daddy Robin is quite territorial, and most often hostile about it. Every time we go out the door they both get in the cottonwood tree and chitter angrily at us until we go back in.
And the poor dogs get swooped at when they go out. It's an all out riot in the back yard when Pisty goes out to chase squirrels, and Daddy Robin is chasing away other birds, and then turns on Pisty. One would think he might figure out that they have a good tag team nest protection program, but Daddy Robin is an equal opportunity swoop attacker.

At any rate, we should have little open mouthed babies in the next week or so, and I have been supplementing their diet of bugs with berries after some online research.
I am sensitive to Lady Robin's cause.
Next up, what we are doing to our nest......

The Tummy: 28 Weeks

That's right........my tummy shots have regressed to me just out of bed in my jammies.
But I'm not ashamed, I'm off today and Tim took this before going to work this morning.
I do regret putting my hind side in the sun, I should have put the belly out there to highlight it. Oh, well, next time.
So here is the due date situation:
My original due date is August 7th, which puts me at whatever the ticker says, I think not quite 28 weeks. When we had our last appointment we got the ultrasound report, and first and foremost baby is perfect, no abnormalities, no concerns, and ne revealing the gender.
The due date however was July 29th. The Dr. told us it was not enough to officially change the date, but that I could go with any date in that range. Well, I pick July 29th of course. I am grabbing that with both hands and sinking my teeth in. I fully acknowledge that in the end God and Baby know best, and I could potentially be pregnant clear through August 20th, but I'm holding fast that Baby will come befoer too much summer heat, as long as they are ready.
My "turkey timer" says it's almost time, but I know not to trust that.
So depending on which date you prefer I'm somewhere around 29 weeks....yikes....did time just speed up?

Finished Product....Kinda

Remeber this? I'm trying not to.
And now it's this:
Can I get a collective sigh of relief?!?!?!
Thank God for Blessing me, and thanks to Jeff for putting up with my demands during these endeavors.
Here is the mostly finished product.

I still need to paint and have the electrical dealt with, but overall, I'm considering this done.
That's a wrap.

My Disclaimer

After I reviewed my latest posts I realized something. I feel like I've carried on a bit, almost with a neener-neener tone. I hope that it's just me, but in the event it comes off that way please know this:
I am sooo excited to get this done. I am feeling the "Baby Crunch Time" and this was super high on my list, right after a crib and diapers.
I also want to acknowledge that I am aware of the immense Blessing in my life to have a family that is employed almost solely through the flooring industry.
These many posts also serve a secondary purpose. Tim has been in Texas working, and this is a good way for him to catch up when he gets home today.
So that's my disclaimer/excuse for carrying on.
Love, Maryann

The Bathroom: Day 4

Before we get into the bathroom, this is what it looks like outside today.
It must be May 1st in Colorado.
It was 80 degrees yesterday.....sigh....
Shower grout!!!
That's Jeff's grout face.

The perks of having your brother set tile?
He'll do stuff like this for you.
Custom backsplash......Isn't he nice?

New faucet and glass tiles.........drool....

The Bathroom: Day 3

Floor grout!!!
Then Jeff set the vanity back in it's corner, which brings me to a small story....
Last summer while we were doing the lower bath I was eyeballing stuff for this project, and saw a corner mount medicine cabinet at Lowe's. Being the hesitant and trusting soul I am I didn't pick it up thinking, "This will be here next year", well, not so much.
I went yesterday and lo and behold, no longer there.
Moral:
She who hesitates is lost, and then forced to order something online.

Fininshed floor with grout. Pretty.
For those curious about names, the tile is called Caracas, and the grout shade is Almond.
Finished shower tile.
Can anything bad be said about mixed neutrals, I highly doubt it.

Ahhhhh, glass tiles......
And the little white plastic spacers add a nice touch.
