Happy Birthday, Husband!

Tim celebrated 28 on Wednesday. We had a Birthday Feast with all of Tim's most favorite foods.

There was Buffalo Filet, potato casserole, baked beans, cheesy bread, and all topped of with some homemade apple tart. He ate himself flat onto the couch, it was very fun. The piano got dressed up for the party as well, in green no less, Tim's favorite color. Even the dogs got some birthday leftovers, so much in fact they didn't even need dog food that night. It was a great success!

And, yes, Tim plays his piano nearly every day.

Pups On Parade

Of course, it hasn't taken me long to have to post about my "kids". For right now these two mini-dacshunds are our children, and they sure seem to take a fair amount of work!

I have had Gunner, the black one, for 6 years now, he is our neurotic little boy, but he is smart as a whip, and very feisty. He loves his very special ball and the sound of his own voice, which he uses to alert us of any goings on, such as, visitors, bird invaders or a change in wind direction. He takes his job as our home security system very seriously.

I have had Pisty, the red one, for 3 years now, and she is our little love. She loves everyone, everything and every snack available. She lives for trying to get the squirrels out back to "please, please, please, come down from that tree and play with me" The squirrels however are not so receptive to this idea, but she has unshakable faith that this friendship will one day happen.

I've never had any doubt in my mind as to why the word "dog" is God spelled backwards. These two little blessings are here for a reason, and a life without them would seem lonely, and less quirky. I'm so glad they are still young in dog years and can't wait to see what they try to pull off next.

Who Is Your Hero?

I had the most amazing thing happen yesterday. Two very dear ladies in my life, who I have know for several years, came over yesterday and we all found out we share Faith.

I have this picture framed on my wall and one of them noticed it, and it opened up an avenue to share some thoughts with each other. I am always amazed at how you can know someone for some time and think a great deal of them and yet, not know that you share similar foundations. I guess that's why you are able to be good friens in the first place.

Well, as for me, I never really felt that I needed to "belong" in one church family. It is right for alot of people, and I would never want to undermine that, but I have always felt that for me, everyone is fair game. I believe that God would have the whole world be my church family, and I try to keep that in my mind at all times.

I like this particular picture of Jesus because in my heart this is how He feels. He is perfect, and straight from God to us, and I bet He smiles all the time. I just hope that sometimes He smiles because of me.

Play Me a Song, Piano Man

Well, as many of you know Tim is a "techie" to take care of us, but in his soul he is a musician. He has been abundantly blessed with a gift that I don't even think he truly sees. But for those of us who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, we see as well as appreciate it.

About a year and a half ago I wanted to move my business home, and in order for that to happen Tim gave up his piano. I know that it was very hard for him, and I'm not sure he'll ever know how much it meant to me......

It was actually an e-mail I sent to a zillion people about this very instance that inspired me to just start blogging.

You see, I have always sensed how deeply Tim missed having a piano in the house, and when God provided a path for me to get him one, I glady ran down that path(it was more like skipping, I think!) So, here it is...Tim's birthday present, a little early, but exciting just the same.

I love you, Honey!

Oh, You Gotta Have Friends

Sadly, there were roughly seven or so attempts at this shot, but what can I say.....this is a truly accurate representation of the Three Muskateers. My two most bestest friends, Layna(right) and Dina(center).

I have known Layna for nearly a decade, back when her now 6'3" son didn't have front teeth. We have been through alot together, and I felt blessed through everything, no matter how rough, and still feel blessed when something new comes along to share with her. I just hope that there are only good things left to come.

I have known Dina-Wina, as we've come to call her, for about 6 years. She had confessed that when we first met she wanted to run me over with her car(now, that is a long story) but, we overcame that and I can't think of anyone else I'd rather share a laugh with.

Surprise!!

Well, Tim got me good. I had a "lucky" birthday this year. I was born on Friday the 13th, and every time it comes back around, I call it a "lucky" one. I had the best Surprise party ever.......I have been so blessed to have such Family and Friends. I was shocked and cried, which I think is required of most women in these situations. We heartily partied, and paid the price later....good way to ring in 28.

I'm a Big Kid Now!

The happiest day of my life.......

so far that is.

I am finally ready to conquer my technological fear and come over to Blogville. I have greatly enjoyed the Blogs that I have come to know, and think it is a great way to keep loved ones up to speed. I hope this goes well......
