Hot Summer

It has been so hot lately!! Don't get me wrong, I love the summer, but it just seems to be hot-hot-hot. Because I work at home sans A/C I usually feel like I am the owner of a Turkish Bath House moreso than an Esthetician. I am really looking forward to some nice cool days and having the option of walking the dogs after 8:00 A.M. if I so desire I have found that when I'm really feeling the heat I like to think about cooler days and the Eskimo lifestyle.

I found this picture while perusing our CD's and it made me smile..........though when this storm hit I was anything but smiles. Tim was working in SanAntonio at the time and was due to fly home the next day, I in the spirit of solitude hadn't been the the store in a couple of weeks and knew that I had the potential to be hungry and alone for a few days, not to mention alone with 2 plump pooches.

Long story short I braved an adventure to Safeway and Tim had an invigorating 3 hour drive down from DIA. I still can't remember what I ate that day.....

So Pretty

Here we are at a super fun, Prom Themed, birthday party. It was back in May....almost 2 years ago....but hey, you rarely get a chance to get all gussied up!! I felt that we looked spectacular(without outshining the birthday beauty....Hi Jenni!)

Enjoy!!!

More puppy love

Because she is always in motion it's hard to get a good shot of how long her legs are......
The Heathen Crew
Gunner Pork Chop

Gunner has gained some weight since the baby came home, so today he starts a diet. This is really quite a funny thing because for the first 5 or so years of his life is was a struggle to get him to keep weight on, but I guess that 7 is the magic number for him, he is officially middle-aged........and showing it around the waist.

Poor Pisty on the other hand has always gained easily, but the arrival of the baby has found her more trim. She is getting alot more excercise. Not to mention our squirrel, Willie Nelson, has been spending a fair amount of time out back taunting her.

And Quig of course is growing like a weed, and eating like a Hoover. She loves to gallop and pounce, and she is quite sure the world is her oyster.....I'm not inclined to argue the point........yet.

Getting Bigger

Miss Quigley is getting bigger, this picture is actually several weeks old.

We are enjoying her so much. She graduated from her Family Dog 1 class last week and did so with flying colors(in my opinion) Tim came to watch and he was very proud of her. Next step is Family Dog 2!!!

I truly love training with the dogs, it is so incredible to me when you really reach a point where you are truly communicating with your dogs.

Who's The Hunk???

For those of you who have been privy to Tim's exotic blend of humor, you will get a kick out of this. And those few who have not yet had this exquisite experience, you may worry about him, but I assure this is totally normal, as well as expected.

Tim appeared in the kitchen the other day attired as such and it always gets me a hefty case of the giggles. We dare not wonder where the inspiration comes from, we simply embrace it. I personally feel it is the artist within that inspires these "creations".

I think I will dub this one, Fernando....

The Money Shot

Thursday I came home from the salon to eat some lunch and feed Quigley. We were doing the "business as usual" and I noticed that Pisty was laying in her bed, which was strange considering that she is usually very excited when I come home(even though it's Tim who really butters her biscuit!) So, I looked at her and saw that she had white stuff on her head, which right now is commonplace since the lower level bathroom is being remodeled. I figured she got into some drywall mud or whatnot and went over to wipe it off, and there it was, bird poo, right on her head.......that helped to explain the indignent look in her face!! I am always so tickled at how much their little poochy faces can be so telling to what they are feeling, and even more delightful to catch it on the camera!! If only she could play the lottery!!

Freedom Isn't Free

Tim and Old Glory

This 4th of July we had a great time with friends and family at our "Front Yard Party".

Since we live close to a local stadium, we have a good veiw of the fireworks display, and we invited people over to enjoy them with us. It was a late night, but the display was beauitful and thought provoking, as it usually is for me.

I think to myself that we are so blessed to live in free country, but how easily we all can forget the heavy price that was paid, and is still being paid by brave men and women who believe in that Freedom.

Most of you know that my younger brother, Jeff, served in Iraq twice in the Marines. We have been blessed with his return to us here in the "Civilian Quarters", but that time he was over there was quite a wrenching experience. He was over there doing his job, which is to protect our Freedom. There are countless others who have not been so fortunate while they were doing their jobs.

I hope that we can all continue to remember and appreciate the Freedom we enjoy day to day, because even though it's not coming directly out of our accounts, that Freedom is still being bought at a very high price. God Bless America!!!
