Am I Crazy?!?!?

Welcome to our upstairs bathroom, which for all intensive purposes is "my" bathroom.
I know, it's cluttered, but this is about home improvement people, not my complete disregard of housekeeping and organization.
The good news is, this bath in our house is no longer this color. Our bedroom was this color as well at one point, but luckily we only know that from removing a door stop from the wall.( Which also revealed a knob-sized hole in the wall behind it, but now I know how to patch drywall)

Someone before our time had the presence of mind to paint it cream, likely because most normal people would flinch when beholding a room this shade of peachy, pinky, salmony, mildewy...blech

But I have alot of questions when I go into this room, such as.....

Is this electrical configuration "code"? Should we have an open receptacle with wires peeking out?

This will be the charge of Tim's fabulous cousin, Josh, who when not moonlighting as the family electrician, is on the CSFD. Calm yourselves, single ladies, I've been to the Firestation and most are married.

And, what is happening here?

This is what I look at when I'm in the tub. This is 25 year old tile, but mostly it's 25 year old water logged drywall. And that black crud is 25 minutes old, I swear it's on a breeding program.

How much longer until this just crumbles and lands in the tub?

And how fast can we replace the "vintage" faucet?

And, what the*gag* is happening here?

More water damage anyone?

This is the view from the toilet, very pretty.

It sort of looks like Africa, no?

So am I crazy? Well, at nearly 6 months pregnant I am SERIOUSLY thinking about re-doing this bathroom. After all, it will be where Baby has bathtime(as well as me)

As you may recall, Tim got his new bathroom last summer(6' 10" showerhead, anyone?)

Not that he won't share, but he doesn't have a tub, and if it weren't for my bubble baths, the world would seem a much more daunting place.

So I'll keep you posted, and I'm sure my brother Jeff is greatly looking forward to another project at the House of Improvement, or as he may think of it, My Sister's House of Daunting Requests and Incessant Nagging, But at Least She Cooks for Me.

Or something along those lines.

Ultrasound

Clearly this is not the ultrasound picture, but it does make me think of spring, which seems to be trying to peek into our lives once again. Thank goodness.
I'll spare you the drawn out story of our endeavors to try and get a picture on our computer, but let's say that our computer is an archaic 4 year old and it was not happening.
The ultrasound was great fun, we took our Mom's, and it was amazing for us all. None of us had ever had the experience, it was very fun to share with the Grandma's.
Baby looked good, about 1 pound 1 ounce, and slept through the whole thing with hands in front of face. Despite our wiggles and prodding, Baby only awoke once to give us a look at the face from the front. The profile shots came out the best, and luckily we didn't want to know the sex of our little one because Baby was in a little ball, and as I mentioned, having a nap.
The funniest part was when the Tech said,"Now I'm taking measurements of the femur and humerus................How tall is Dad?" "6 foot 6", we replied.
"mmhmm", she said. Turns out Baby already has long limbs!
We were allowed to spend a little time watching Baby from the profile angle, and we got too see Baby play with hands a little bit, lots of finger wiggling and at one point the index finger went straight up. I guess Baby already knows he/she is #1.
So that's the story, and other than that, nothing much else is happening.
Hope you all had a Glorious Easter!

Our 2nd Anniversary

Here is Tim, poised and ready. Bring on the 3 course fondue dinner. Tim loves the Melting Pot. He gets excited about a trip to the Melting Pot weeks in advance. And we usually go for our Anniversary or his Birthday.
Here he is thoroughly enjoying his meal. This is the 2nd course, which is meat. He had already been through the 1st course of cheese, and he was just hitting his stride here. I am telling you, this is one happy man. I also was enjoying, but I only need a few bites of each, plus I had a delicious salad with mangoes and coconut crusted cashews and creamy citrus dressing, so I was just watching the show.

And this is what happens when you eat 2/3 of a pot of cheese fondue with bagels cubes and green apples, followed by roughly 1 1/2 pounds of meat. There was a fillet, some chicken, pork tenderloin and jerk seasoned sirloin. If the jerk steak had not been so spicy Tim would have eaten every piece of meat on the plate. And let's not forget, dessert is still on it's way....

Which is why I go to the Melting Pot. I have a strategy, taste all the offerings, but pace yourself. There is a pot of chocolate here and in order to not hurt anyone's feelings, I like to try at least onepeice of everything on the plate of dippers.

I Clean Up Nice

Who is this? Oh, wait it IS me. I didn't recognize myself. I look a little scared I think, but the point is that I have on make-up and my hair is done! Someone call CNN. When I opened my make-up bag and plugged in my flat iron, there was faint singing. I'm sure it was the celebratory cry of my long abandoned products. We had an exciting reunion.
And here is your 20 week tummy shot, complete with Gunner. We were having focus issues with the camera, but you get the gist of my form here....expansion.
How many of you ladies who have been pregnant have felt the freedom to wear horizontal stripes? I have embraced it whole-hearted. All my days when I saw a shirt, no matter how cute, that had horizontal stripes, I would flee in terror. Now I'm like, "Bring on the stripes!" Let's celebrate my expanding waistline, I tell you I may just stay pregnant all year.
Not really, I'm half way there people and I am ready to see this person in 20 more weeks....give or take, depending on Baby's plans.

Eye See You

O.K.....you all know the score. I was very sick, not much time for fun or being upright, blah, blah.
Well, now that I'm better I see the world through new "eye". I seem to be so easily amused these days.
As Baby grows and changes my form to accomodate his/her needs I notice the strangest things like, my belly button went from being round to being shaped like an eye. So, of course, my first inclination was to go get some eyeliner and paint an eye on there. I presented it to Tim, who found it amusing as well as slightly creepy. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the shadow inside my belly button that the flash lit up really looked like an iris.
Anyway, this picture was taken at a little over 16 weeks and I don't know what my belly button is up to now, but I have a feeling the "inny" look is fading fast.
I think I will continue to paint my belly in new ways, unless 50% or more of you find it offensive.
Then I might not, maybe.

Masquerade

My sister, Kimmy, recently went to a Mardi Gras party where she was "required" to wear a mask to gain admission. She was not into putting a mask on her face, and really who could blame her, I have a little clauster-mask-phobia as well.

I have always loved to do make-up and this was so much fun to do at a time that was not Halloween or a wedding. Now, please, I beg you to not look at my appearance, I am a total frump these days, and I swear, I will soon post a picture of myself with make-up and combed hair.

Let's focus on Kimmy, she was stunning(even before the make-up) and she was the Belle of the Ball. She said later on into the party all the other guests had removed their masks, but she was still in full celebration decoration!!

The Ticker!!!

No, not the heartbeat. The nifty little flower garden near the top? See that? That is a pregnancy ticker. Now you can all stop in see how far along we are and what's new with Baby Webb. It also has a countdown feature, something I am sure to appreciate later on. Keep an eye on it when you are by. We love you all.
And by the way, CRL up there, that stands for Crown to Rump Length.
