Supervision

Gunner has a simple life.
He likes to sleep, bark, snooze, bark, rest his eyes a little, bark and have meals served twice daily. His life is pretty low key. But you want to know a secret?
He is a total busy body when things are going on.
Over the weekend Tim was trimming the trees in the back yard and Gunner is always beside himself when he can't be poised in the middle of any large project.
Add to that the fact that I was in the house for portions of the endeavor and Gunner has appointed himself my full time nurse, and this is what you get.
He was so busy running outside to check on Tim in the trees, then back in to check on me and my swollen ankles, I thought he might go apoplectic.
And it was hot out. I think Pisty's face says it all: "Is it worth all this?"
He's looking pretty worked. And he is still recovering.
And as a little side note:
Someone come over here and stick a fork in me......I am so done.

Just a Quickie: FYI

I was lamenting to my husband, who is a computer guy, that I am sad at how little blog pictures are.

It does my new BFF, the Nikon, little justice for the sheer quality of picture it produces.

In his infinite and diabolical computer wisdom, he pointed out to me that viewers can click on the picture and a big window will pop up with the picture in it.

This is why if you know absolutely nothing about computers(which I don't), you must find yourself an individual who does......I just happened to marry the one I found.

It's up to you how far you want to take it.

So, I'm too sure that all of you knew that, and if you have felt compelled to closely examine my blooming skill as a photographer, you have been doing so. But, on the off chance you are as deeply educated about computers as me....give it a twirl.....

Seriously, if you never do it again, do it to this picture, my Mom is amazing!

The Local Wildlife

It's the Wild Man From Borneo!!
Not really, it's a tree trimming husband.
Who doesn't feel like wildlife coming into their 39th week of pregnancy?
By the way, this is our life since I got that darn Nikon camera.
This is what Honey sees when he looks at my face, and he has unwittingly found himself as my assistant. He hauls around my case and hands me lenses when I need them.
Secretly he loves it as much as I do.......I think......

I will openly admit that I took more pictures of this one butterfly than anything else.
I had no idea how difficult this guy would make it for me to get a shot of him with his wings open and his antennae at the right angle.
Curse these tiny pics on the blog posts, because those antennae, they are ADORABLE.
Little yellow balls, so stinking cute.

Little Bunny Foo Foo.
He had trust issues.

This guy had some trust issues as well, but he let me take lots of shots of him.
Never mind I used a zoom lens from a very healthy distance.
He had crooked fuzzy antlers.
I think if he had a name, it would be Sherman.

This guy let me get real close.
I took this with a "regular" lens.
He had blue stripes on his belly. Does that make him lizard royalty?
Sir Blue Belly.
Why do I think everything I took pictures of was of the male persuasion?

My Husband and the Mobiles

Tim has built a whole lot of baby furniture and accessories.
He is an old pro at this point, and he is the only one who knows how to pop open the stroller and set up the high chair.
He is such a good Daddy.
The whole ordeal was at times very confusing for him, but mostly it was dangerous.
Did you know that an unattached mobile is a common household hazard?
We didn't either, but we found out that you can't turn your back on them or they will turn on you!

This one got Tim as he was trying to decipher the directions.
Fortunately it was only teddy bears, which have the least instances of completely mauling first time Dads.

He put up a good fight with this one, as it was jungle animals and quite a bit more dangerous.
And as you can see I was kicked back watching the whole thing. Pregnant Momma's can't get in the middle of mobile mauling, it is far too dangerous.

Alas, the mobile won.....
I counted to three and Tim tapped out.
In the end he got them all tamed and attached and they have all promised to be be nice mobiles to the baby.......but I think they still give Tim the stink eye.
Be warned, friends.......

The Sky

Have you heard that George Strait song, "I Saw God Today"?
Well, first of all, it tells about the birth of his daughter, so every time I hear it I well up, but it is also kind of thought provoking to me.
I try to see God every where I look and I see him most in the sky.
I am always so awestruck by the colors He chooses and the way He layers them up and makes them more beautiful than anything I could ever hope to create or imagine.
I always think of Him when I see the sky.

These 2 pictures were taken at the same time(or within seconds of each other)
The top is a view to the east, the bottom to the west.
Where do you see God?
The faces of your children? The face of a stranger? A flower?
Do share with me, I'd love to know.

Baby's Room

Here is little baby's room.
I just need to hang a few things on the wall yet.
The chair and ottoman were a gift from Tim's folks.
The crib and mattress were a gift from my folks.
And that blanket on the chair? My Mom(Nana) hand cross stitched it over the course of about 3 or 4 months. It is amazing.
We have just been so blessed. I cannot begin to express it.
We have absolutely everything we need and it is all beautiful.

I am so in love with going into the drawers and looking at the tiny clothes.

I lay the little clothes in the various locations where the baby will be and smile at the sheer tininess of them all.

But, my favorite are the tiny socks.
I just need some tiny feet to put them on now!

38 Weeks

Here you have it.
The belly at 38 weeks, and I am SO ready for this little one to be born.

We see the Dr. on Thursday and I hope he sends me straight to the hospital.
I know see the beauty in God's plan. Once you get this far, labor and delivery seem not at all frightening compared to the prospect of being pregnant any longer.
Plus, the total suspense of not knowing what we're having is really getting fun.
We are so very ready to meet and hold this little one.
I hope this is my last belly post!
